Animals in the Hood

Our neighborhood lunch was today--the only that I missed last year--
and I was so glad to spend the afternoon with these ladies.
I wish I had some sort of photo documentation to capture the beautiful food,
gorgeous home, or festive bright pinks, greens and blue candlesticks and decor.
Or an audio recording of all the fun conversation and laughs.
But alas, I have none of that.

What I do have is an address for the shop with the best cake around (Tulie Bakery).
(Olive oil and chocolate cake that were the best ever!)
A recipe for Texas Sheet Cake/brownies that was the best I've had,
a link to a true crime podcast featuring my old next-door neighbor (whose brother was kidnapped),
and a picture of this long horned sheep that Chelsea ran into while walking
IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD!

It was the most delightful afternoon.
What makes this gathering so special is the "neighborhood" friends
doesn't cut off at the stop sign where our ward boundary ends.
No. We're included beyond that so it's two wards.
Because as great as geographic church boundaries are,
the downside is you often don't get to know your neighbors that are one street away.

This evening Dan helped me set up for the RS party at Moffat's home
and then we delivered Amaryllis' to our neighbors.

These guys were in our neighbor's front yard and weren't disturbed in the least
by our car arriving not 20 feet away from them.

In decorating news,
I've given our bathroom a makeover with gold and green accents,
in spite of having chrome faucets and hardware, and the refresh looks so good!

Your bathroom refresh looks great!! I love that you added in some new finishes and it all works so nicely together. Golds and greens are my favorite!
