Shopping and Shopping

Today while Courtney was at work, I walked down to Columbus Circle to rent a bike and ride around the park a couple of times. And then I walked home. And by then it was already 1:00!

I needed to read some short stories, so spent some time in Barnes and Noble. And then, Good News! Courtney got off work early! We met for a late lunch at Patsy's and then headed to 5th Ave. to shop for garment-friendly clothes. And we had much success at Uniqlo, Gap, Anthropologie and Banana Republic! We still needed to go to Loft and J. Crew, but they were closed for the evening.

Each evening as we head out, we say, "And maybe after we can go to a movie! Ocean's 8!" And then by 8:00 or 9:00 we say, "Actually, should we just go home?!"

Eating our dinner cross-legged on the couch with the ottoman pulled close as a table. Perfect!

But tonight we were able to get Pride and Prejudice working. The BBC Colin Firth 5 hour version. I love that movie! So we ordered Thai delivered to the apartment and watched a classic. Capital!

I had to sneak a photo of this group of men in Patsy's. They were quintessential New Yorkers -- laughing, loud, good 'ol boys with Brooklyn accents. I imagined they were all fire fighters or cops or taxi drivers. They were having a ball and it made us happy to get to sit near their reunion. It made me think... These guys come off as delightful. But if it was a group of bankers in their suits lunching and loud laughing, we would assume they were pretentious and annoying. Deep thoughts... (Not Dan of course.) Is it the accent?
