Work Break

We thought we'd only spend our first night in the bunkhouse and then move over to our new master bedroom in the main. Monday night we were too exhausted to worry about switching.
Tuesday we discovered we didn't have the right height of box springs. But Wednesday morning we moved all our stuff over thinking we'd make the switch. Unfortunately box springs had to be ordered and won't be in for two weeks. And everything is still in disarray, I convinced Dan we needed to stay in the bunkhouse again. (All we had to move over were our toiletries and pj's. But honestly, even that seems hard.)

We've slept with the windows open every night. The air smells like butterscotch from the pines.
I sleep so well when its cool but have woken at 5:00 the last three mornings ready to get things done.
Today, I managed to go back to sleep and it felt so good to sleep in!
This little bunkroom is so cute and the space is so efficient. I love it every bit as the main house.

Mike dropped by so we could discuss things that needed to be done and walk out our driveway.
We're so worn out, I'm sure we're a totally different version of Angela and Dan who show up fresh off the plane for a quick day trip. 😂

We went to the falls this afternoon.

The boys got their much anticipated album shots.

Kershaw followed me to the other side of the river where I was taking their pics
so he got a bigger swim than he's ever had before. He did great though.

Even Kershaw got a posed photo.

After the boys put the gym together -- three heavy pieces of equipment -- I realized one was in a much different spot than I'd expected. Essentially taking up the main part of the room and leaving another space underutilized. How do you tell the kids that the 400 lb. functional trainer needs to be disassembled and moved? Surprisingly they took it pretty well.
In spite of this being our day off, they were ready for another project so they took care of it this evening.

Tri-tip fajitas for dinner tonight (also great in the regular oven! Who knew?)
and Marty brought chips -- poker chips -- for a round of 31 and a pot of $50.
Noah was dealt 31 in the very first round, I always had low low cards and surprisingly Dan was the first one out. In the end, Nick was the winner.

Dan and I sat by the fire while the boys worked out.
In spite of saying we're going to bed early, we didn't.
Haven't all week. But you know what's fun?
Listening to the boys cheers for each other in the gym then later
hearing them laugh and shout and have fun at the fire while we lay in bed.

We really are sleeping in the main house tonight. But not our room -- the bed is too low.
So trying out the room next to it.
