Emi woke up just in time to come on a walk with me and Kershaw.
Did I mention we brought Kershaw to Colorado?
Marty and Lizzie said it would be okay and we thought if they didn't mind,
it would be nicer than leaving him at doggie daycare.
He did great and Emi didn't mind when he wagged his tail in her face.
But when he barked at the ringing the doorbell numerous times,
it really startled Emi and made her super sad.
And when we cheered for Emi in our baby voices,
Kershaw got pretty jealous, Ha! He was very confused since that's the voice we use for him!
But other than that, it was easy to have him along.
Dan's project yesterday was to hire someone to get rid of the 500 lb (not exaggerating),
concrete "bar/counter" that the contractor had left in the garage and was going to get rid of... someday.
Dan found a couple of guys on task rabbit willing to take it to the dump,
and we were able to send a few more dump things along. Yay!
Now they can pull both cars into the garage and we can work on garage organization tomorrow.
Lizzie and I started the morning getting the under-stair storage organized.
(They have a finished basement, which is so nice!).
We also unloaded the game boxes into the basement cupboards, and before we knew it, the basement was tidy and all the boxes put away!
Dan got to work weeding the yard and was literally out there for 15 hours.
(Marty was surprised to see him weeding when he got home from work.
It definitely is unusual to see Dan doing yardwork, but the nice thing is, he knows how to get stuff done, even if its not his first choice of how to spend his Saturdays at home.
He told me he loved working in the yard because the whole time he thought of Marty and how much he loved him and was happy he could do something helpful for him.)
He and Marty made a Home Depot trip (was that yesterday?)
to get shovels, a blower, power washer, a lawn mower and good workgloves.
Lizzie and I made more progress on the pantry and a second trip to The Container Store and our first trip to Target. We've got some things we like the way they look,
and some things we're looking for alternatives.
Also got to think about the coat closet and laundry room organization.
I'm getting right back into the motherhood swing of things,
working around two naptimes and making time to feed Emi.
Feels like just yesterday this was my full-time life.
I'm not sure if there's anything better than one of the people you love most of all sitting in your lap.
When my kids were little and several wanted to sit in my lap,
I made a point of always saying, "there's room for everyone."
And there always was.
The Container Store and Target pretty much make shopping adventures complete.
Pantry Reconfiguration after Container Store 2nd trip --
it's looking good!
So is the yard!
Marty and Lizzie went to dinner tonight and brought home Indian food.
We're all exhausted and fell into bed at 9:30!
