Happy 18th Birthday, Nick!
So many things impress me about him:
He's very self-sufficient. He cooks, he cleans, he stays on top of his grades and classes.
He has a plan for his future and takes the long view --
he can see what will be important and doesn't procrastinate.
He's nice to his parents and to his friends and he's sweet to his girlfriend.
He's a great conversationalist and likes learning about the world and figuring out his opinion.
Man, he's dedicated to his fitness and clean eating goals.
He's learned so much about nutrition and weight lifting and is happy to share what he's learned.
He likes to have fun and plans great activities but he's also good at relaxing too.
I love spending time with him. He's always happy to help out,
he's funny and smart. He's such a great kid. Love you, Nick!
First harvest from Gram's orange tree.
He LOVES Minky blankets and now he has his very own.
We're going to Deer Valley to ski this weekend, but Nick has a rugby tournament
at UCLA this weekend. So we're going our separate ways this afternoon.
He'll go out to dinner with his friends to celebrate, and it feels like we're abandoning him
leaving him behind on his birthday.
But he is 18 after all. And this will be the new norm pretty soon.
So proud of the man (!) he's become.
