So Many Moose

Hiking with Steph B. and Steph R. today to Lake Mary.
I haven't been hiking much this summer since my breathing's been restricted so it's not as much fun.
But impossible to pass up on a morning with friends willing to go all the way up to Brighton.

Seeing two moose in a field on the way up was super exciting.
But shocking to see one 10 yards from us on the trail!

He was pretty occupied eating leaves and scratching his antlers while standing in a small pool of water.
But after filming and spying on him for a while, we wanted to move on but were hesitant to pass.

We ended up hiking up a small hill and taking a wide path around.

We were early enough that we were the only ones at the lake so we sat for a while to talk,
catch up on families and news and enjoy the mountains, cool temps, beautiful lake

and watched three more moose opposite us--
two in the water and a male in the trees.
The most moose I've ever seen at once and the first with antlers!

Feeling the nerves today with my procedure tomorrow.
Glad I've got solutions to open my airway. Just don't love the process.
It's quick and relatively painless. Just unsettling.

The chefs were at work today making homemade pizza with very specific brands of flour, canned tomatoes for sauce, cheeses, oven temp, etc. Glad to have the Pizzeria Limone pro helping out.
Results were delicious!
We're figuring out adjustments for next time -- less sauce and fresh mozzerella and basil on everything.
