Family Duathlon Relay

Happy Birthday to Brent!

Only Monet and Carson and a couple of the little kids signed up for the Duathlon ahead of time,
but once we explained it was a relay with a 2 mile bike or 1 mile or 2 mile runs, we got a lot more interest.

Race Route:

Teams:

A kids run kicked us off, racing from the ranch to the gate.

Bekah and Carson were the first in the relay.

Jared in his truck and Grandma & Dimitrios in the Ranger
transported the competitors to their starting points.
(.9 miles from our gate to the crossroad just past the General Store.
Another mile quite a ways down the hill to the left (on the loop).
.9 to camp.
1.1 from camp to the ranch.
Something like that!)

Michelle and Courtney getting dropped off after completing their stints.

By the end we were all gathered and could cheer the final competitors --
Dan and Jaxon -- as they raced back.
Team 2 was only 3 minutes behind Team 1,
(including Bekah and Sheree stopping for photos after Bekah's biking stint! 😂 )

Soup was on the menu for lunch, which didn't sound very refreshing after a dusty, hot race that finished after 2:00! But with all the leftovers and a famished crew, everything was delicious.

Dan and a group cold plunged, of course.
And Bekah got the sisters to all go just as the guys got home.

Screaming helped!
(Rachel had just showered, so she was our photographer and only plunged her feet.)

Missing Michael and Sam...

At night we celebrated Brent's birthday with
"What do you Meme," Brent photo version and birthday cake.

And a huge group candy bar game.

It has been such a fantastic week!
Lots of help, lots of fun. Great food, great connections.
Pagosa is such a beautiful place and its been such a joy to share it with my family!
