Dan and Angela's summer of '22 includes making a soundtrack for our life together.
Stay tuned for the playlist.
The rules are: 1) We both have to agree that the song was meaningful to us.
Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here; Elton John, Your Song;
The Proclaimers, 500 Miles (stolen from when it was mine and Jason's song!), etc.
2) Or, if its a song meaningful to just one of us, give a credible argument
as to why it has meaning and should be added.
Me: Goo Goo Dolls, Iris
(from a terrible trip home in the newness of my parent's divorce,
caring for little Courtney and Marty and missing Dan so much).
The temps were in the 80's today and we spent the afternoon by the pool and adding songs.
This led us to wonder if we still had an old mix tape Dan made me during the
Summer of '89 when we met, before he left on his mission.
I'm happy to report that I found
Angela's Mod Mix.
All trips in the car together are now focused on searching for a song in iTunes,
making sure its the right version and adding it to a playlist.
(Different from the soundtrack playlist, of course.
Although, two songs made it on both.)
Last night Dan and I rode our e-bikes to a taco restaurant,
then to Holladay Park where we sat on the grass, talked about life
and loved the feeling of summer with kids playing baseball,
moms on the pickleball court, tweens on their bikes and the skate ramp full of people of all ages.
Talked about how Chris and his friends would have loved
to have the skate park so close when they were younger.
