Dan and I slept in together for the first time in a loooooong time.
And then went on a 17 mile bike ride to Foothill, past the cemetery and through Tanner Park home.
Dan and Chris golfed in the afternoon and I caught up with Zane B.
who was visiting with Rach.
Tonight those of us without little kids went to The Stadium of Fire at BYU.
I remember watching the fireworks from outside the stadium as a kid,
but I'd never been to the show.
Journey was the band and we loved singing along to every song.
We ate pizza near the mall and parked around 7:00 p.m.
(an hour before start time) near the stadium on Freedom Blvd for $10
with no parking trouble at all. Traffic wasn't too bad either.
"Show" started at 8:00 -- mainly giveaways (a lady RIGHT BEHIND us won a Nintendo Switch),
and a performance by the drill team, I assume.
The festival honored four veterans from each branch of the military who served in WWII.
Bio, photos and pics were super moving -- two of the four were able to attend.
Journey started at 8:30 and played straight through to 10:30 -- awesome.
Night parajumpers jumped into the stadium right after, which was really cool, with fireworks right after.
Fireworks were the most amazing display I've seen.
The show ended after 11:00. Getting to cars was slow moving with all the people,
but the traffic leaving wasn't bad at all (we have our trick of leaving on State Street to Orem, which we learned from all the BYU football games.) But it was a little painful not getting home until after midnight.
We are counting down the days to get to Pagosa, just Dan and I,
and relaxing and reading with the most beautiful vistas.
And pray not any mouse or bugs or larvae.
