Riverside, Zabars, Balloons, Central Park, Pizza, Billy Joel

The weather is beautiful -- a chill without being cold.
Glad to have our jackets but don't need hats and gloves -- we're not freezing.
Dan and I walked through Riverside Park this morning then picked up bagels and juice at Zabars
for us and Nick before our tour of our apartment.
We just got the 30 days to closing notice, so fingers crossed!
Dan hasn't seen it since our original walk thru when it was rubble.
And it was fun to show Nick all the building amenities -- he loved the gym.

We met Courtney, Taylor and Cole for lunch near the balloon inflating.
Foreshadowing of our trip: eating then walking around to pass time before eating again.
Chris is joining us late tonight. Michael is working today.

Quite a long line to wait in for the balloons -- 72nd up to 78th ish back down to 72nd.
But it moved pretty fast and there were no lines once we got through security on 72nd and Columbus.

Another trip theme -- Dan's poor aching back.
He pulled something the day before we left and while he's sure the walking is good for it,
he does not look comfortable walking.

We walked across the park thinking we'd spend an hour or so at The Met,
but discovered its closed on Wednesdays.
But a walk through Central Park is always nice. And the weather is perfect.
So none of us minded the excuse to walk and talk.

I love you, Taylor! And I've loved getting to spend more time with Cole and getting to know him better too. My kids have the best friends.

Mr. Softee. Always a good time for soft serve.

Michael picked up pizzas for dinner and all of us met Rhonda, Bob and Becca at
Michael & Courtney's apartment then went to the Billy Joel concert.
He's such a great performer! We loved the show. The kids knew some of his songs (Nick knew a couple),
but everyone had a good time.

Sharon McMahon does deep dives on the topics from
We Didn't Start the Fire,
so that song felt extra exciting now that I know a lot more about the references.

And Piano Man. I mean, that has to be on the top 100 of all time greatest songs, right?
I looked it up. It's not. But its one of MY top 100 of all time.

Show was so so so good. Chris was in bed at the hotel when we got back home.
So happy to be in New York for the holiday.
Missing Marty, Lizzie and Emi, but they get to be in Minnesota with her
brother and his new baby and their parents, so they're having a great time too.
