Balmy November fall in Central Park
Met at the apartment at noon and its pretty close to being finished!
Doors and trim currently being installed. Needs a final coat of paint.
But still waiting for cabinets that may or may not come in December.
So... no move-in dates yet.
But our vacation schedule is chock full so we wouldn't
be spending any time there until this summer or next fall anyway.
Explored Zabars on the way home and tried to figure out why it seemed so much farther away than literally one block around the corner when we lived here 25 years ago.
I think the proximity was close, but the accessibility with two children, a double stroller, and a toddler and infant's capacities for patience taking time to order food at a counter that wouldn't be eaten by them anyway was what made the feasabilty of shopping there impossible.
Today I bought a chef salad which left a lot to be desired
in a city where delicious food options are endless.
But I didn't mind. I wanted to purchase something from Zabars and eat in my hotel room--
not put a lot of thought into finding "the perfect lunch spot."
And a half cherry cheese strudel for dessert was really my main focus.
At night I met Courtney and Michael on the subway.
Literally "we're on the train arriving in five minutes on the last car, meet us there!"
It was very exciting and worked out perfectly.
We were headed to the Javits Center to pick up Michael's race packet
and shop for marathon gear and souvenirs.
(Trying on a finisher hat, not to purchase, but just to see if a pom pom hat looked cute.
Don't be fooled. What looks cute in the store
looks terrible on a morning walk with no makeup, and flat hair.)
Go Michael!
Cheerleading squad!
Run like a cheetah!
Spent the afternoon and late night reading, napping, listening to podcasts and
researching the queen's (king's) guard in London and telephone operators in the 60's in the US
for a new book idea.
(I'm kinda sick of my MasterClass already. Desperately wishing I hadn't signed up.
Sick of my book, sick of being told what stinks about it, sick of the damn first three chapters.
Just totally fine with calling it "good enough"
and avoiding all the work that needs to be put into it by starting on a new idea.)
