Wildflowers

First thing this morning we had to drive back to Dallas to catch our flights home.
But we first stopped to see Paris' own Eiffel Tower.

And an expansive Veteran Memorial next to it.

The sign for the tower was near this tower and for a minute we wondered if this was it...

Goodbye pastures, meadows and wildflowers.
Bluebonnets, red indian paintbrush, pink evening primrose and yellow buttercups.

(Cattle in the meadows eating buttercup. Thunder and lightning, we all jump up!)
Speaking of thunder, the screeching crash of two freight trains colliding jarred us awake
at 6:15 this morning. The reverberating told us it was actually thunder.
But I've never heard a crash from the sky as forboding as what we heard this morning!
