Bluebonnets, Memories and Forever Friends

Courtney and I have a quick weekend trip to Paris, Texas for Tayo's wedding,
about two hours northeast of Dallas.

First thing this morning we walked and talked and ordered ChikFilA for breakfast.

Then drove past our old apartment in Las Colinas, and my old office at Temerlin McClain,
stopped for Acai bowls at Jamba Juice, then up to Flower Mound and Yaggi Drive,
where Courtney was born and where we only lived for three months before moving to Chicago.

Flower Mound was a newish neighborhood when we moved in, as was probably Las Colinas, which was mostly pastures and a few tall buildings and apartments in 1995.
I don't remember any trees anywhere, but now, they've changed the whole look!

I was REALLY hoping that we'd still see bluebonnets on this trip, and yes! they were everywhere!
Courtney asked where we might see them. I told her most likely on the sides of the highways.

We pulled over in a relatively safe spot of highway and took some pics on the burm.

Then Courtney walked a few steps higher and saw a field of them!

We were trying to recreate her two-year-old photo!

Taylor's wedding setting was absolutely idyllic.
(And I really want to copy this pond at Pagosa!)

Taylor was the type of friend who you hoped would spend time at your house.
She was sweet, funny, soft-spoken, a beautiful dancer, smart and very creative.
She and Courtney always cleaned the kitchen spotless when they were over
and played with Nicholas and Christopher and she was just an easy, wonderful addition to the family.

They had a beautiful friendship and it was a sad, sad day when Taylor
moved to Texas after 9th grade when her mom got remarried.
But she ended up thriving, (of course we knew she would),
and has even always come to visit when she's come to town.

We were so grateful to get to celebrate with her and Hayden!
