Start of the Long Rides

We were supposed to move in to the bunk house in Pagosa this weekend.
But like all building projects, it won't be finished as originally projected.
On the bright side, we've been travelling so much through April and May, its kind of
refreshing to have a weekend at home.

But we're committed to doing something fun each day.
Today we rode up Little Mountain at the top of Emigration Canyon.
33 miles round trip.

As we left the house, two little deer were nibbling on the bushes in the front yard.

Darn, I forgot to snap a pic at the top, but I stopped around the first corner on the way down
and made us document there. A little late, but glad we did.

Not gonna lie, that last mile up was tough and the last tenth of a mile was a back killer.
Felt good to get off the bike and fuel for a few minutes.
Riding downhill was a speedy eight miles. So fun!
And a fast spin the rest of the way home. Love my adventure buddy!

Dan grilled steaks and Marty and Lizzie joined us for dinner outside. Feels like summer!
Watched The Intern with Marty and Lizzie tonight--they're spending the weekend here.
And Brent came over. He's in town to help his dad after surgery.
