Substitutes

Have I mentioned that while Marty is waiting for his internship to start in June,
he's substitute teaching? He was thinking about what job he could get for the six weeks between the semester ending and his internship starting and Lizzie suggested substituting.
(Apparently you only need a high school diploma and a clean background check!)

He's signed up with two different districts and has taught in 5th grade, 4th, 3rd, 1st
and even 7th grade P.E.

His first day was 5th grade. He was understandably a little nervous and excited too.
As the class came in, he noticed one boy wearing an anime t-shirt.
Marty told him he liked the show and it turns out half the class also watches it,
and just like that, they fell in love with their substitute teacher!
They also loved that he could speak Japanese!

Today he had first graders who were a little more challenging with their short attention spans!

(I should have let him pause to smile instead of snapping mid-conversation!)

Meanwhile, Lizzie is teaching 3rd grade for the month for her student teaching
before she works full-time as an intern next year.
AND, she passed her Praxis test! Congratulations!

Oh, to be a fly on the wall and watch them! I know they're both so great with the kids!
