We started our morning at The Charleston City Market across the street from our hotel.
Lots of people selling baskets woven from palmettos (looks like a palm tree, but its actually a grass!)
Also jewelry, Carolina rice (a variety hard to find these days), bags, linens and treats.
I bought the cutest little decorative mouse and a pecan praline that I'm still dreaming about.
While we waited for everyone to finish, Kristin took some pointers from the pickleball coach.
The Charleston Open is going on now and its too bad none of us are into tennis because
apparently all the players were staying at our hotel.
I'm still dizzy from the cruise. Feeling like I'm rocking. And the cold.
So I took the opportunity to sit a minute and just watch.
Kristin had to catch a flight back home, so after we said goodbye,
Gram went to the room to rest and Jo, Erin and I shopped on King Ave,
looking in all the antique stores. Fascinating how different parts of the country have such different antiques. No western tin washboards in these stores. All very fancy furniture, china, silver etc.
Erin was our guide and driver the whole trip!
We're in good hands as she takes the time to study out where we're going beforehand.
We walked out of the shopping district and into the residential neighborhood of gorgeous colonial homes.
Finished with a tour of the Nathaniel Russell House.
All the architecture, gardens and special details were some of my favorite parts
of seeing a new place.
Instead of going out for dinner, we ate on the club floor
then watched Where the Crawdads Sing set in the marshes of North Carolina.
Do you know the difference between a marsh and a swamp? Now we do.
