Courtney is Coming Home! (For a second)

I got to see Courtney today for a very brief 30 minutes!
She has emerged from New York where the pandemic cases have gone from terrifying to manageable
to Utah which has gone from managing to spiking.

I sat with her in the airport parking lot after she arrived from New York and before she was joined by several other friends flying in to Salt Lake to drive to Idaho for Tina's wedding.
After the wedding Friday, she's spending the rest of the weekend with us at home,
and we are so looking forward to being with her! It's been so long!

Amidst the pandemic, Courtney finished a paper she's been working on for forever and also was accepted to present at a conference in June! Of course the live conference got cancelled (like everything else), but she gave a virtual (pre-recorded) presentation instead.

When Courtney was practicing the presentation, she said she sounded like her 3rd grade "Ants Book Report voice." I told her to embrace it! It's her presentation voice -- the whole reason the class was given presentation homework was to develop those skills!

And seriously, the Ants book report was the cutest ever!
