Utah Traditions

For the last two Tuesdays, Chris and buddies have spent the evening attending mission call openings.
Last night their friend was first at 6:00 and others were scheduled every 30 minutes until the last ones at 9:30 when three friends all opened theirs together at the same house.

I guess the kids send around snapchats letting everyone know when their opening is and inviting everyone to come and then everyone fits in their times around the first to "reserve" a spot!

Of course not everyone opens theirs when they receive it on Tuesday to accommodate family, etc.
so lots of other evenings he goes to more openings.

Luke: Sierra Leone. Jake: Cape Verde. Jon: Oakland, California. Jojo: Thailand.
Tonight Austin opened his (he turned his in same Sunday as Luke but didn't get it for 3 weeks: Indianapolis, Indiana.
McKay submitted last week but didn't get his. Noah and Cole submitted on Sunday.
Every Tuesday the Mom group chat blows up reporting if their kid got his or not.
(Seems to arrive via e-mail at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday)

You used to be able to look on Monday on the ward donations list online. If your child's name had been added to it, his call had been assigned. But this week no one was listed on Monday.
So everyone was expecting to not get their call (so many rumors are floating around about changes during conference, no one was too surprised when they didn't get issued. "Yep, it's because of the new changes." But then they came on Tuesday without warning.
So I guess the Church figured out the "donation form" secret. 😂

Tons of kids and best friends' parents show up to each opening. Probably over 50 go to each one!
