America!

Last night we completed Courtney's Utah vacation dreams by ordering Cafe Rio and eating up the canyon, then roasting s'mores. It was a beautiful night and always fun to have Ashlyn along. Nick brought Ryan and they both brought hammocks which they love to hang and spend time in if they can.

Courtney left early on the 4th to Seattle. Christopher and 10 friends slept over and stayed up all night long. At 5:45 we heard them getting out of bed in the bunk room (because it's right above Dan and I -- big planning mistake). Dan walked down to Chris' room to see what the heck they were doing and they were all standing at attention (Chris in his scout uniform) saluting the sun and listening to "I'm Proud to Be an American." I do not know how they come up with their hilarious ideas.

Of course they were videoing for their SnapChat stories, so in the middle of it all of a sudden you can hear Dan's voice cut in, "Some people are trying to sleep in this house!"

The Janke's came over for brunch at 10:30. Originally we'd considered hiking, but none of our kids wanted to go, plus we considered the crowds. So instead we settled on brunch and swimming which was really fun. Levi and Nick actually talked and played together in the pool so that's a milestone I wanted to record.

Nick went to Stadium of Fire with the Rigby's and Chris had his friends back over for a BBQ that night. Dan and I rode the Vespa to Holladay for fireworks and found the Janke's there. Always a good time. But my mouth felt miserable and it was giving me a headache. I was kind of glad when we could come home and go to bed.
