Chris' Homecoming

Chris knocked it out of the park today with his beautiful mission homecoming report and testimony of Jesus Christ, our Savior and the power the Gospel has to change lives.
One thing I loved about his talk was how he testified throughout. He's truly developed a gift for teaching.
His smile was contagious and he radiated light and enthusiasm.

The most common comments, besides what a wonderful talk he gave, were "he's so happy!"
I am so impressed at the skills he's learned over the last two years in not only putting together material for a talk, but being able to get the words on paper and in such an eloquent way. He struggled with this before his mission -- not too uncommon for a teenager -- and it's so great to see how its become a talent.
He's always been great in front of people, but he was even more confident, calm, and having fun.

It was a fantastic meeting with the sweetest youth speaker, a gorgeous musical number and another wonderful talk about standing in holy places and choosing light.
The link to the full meeting is here. Musical number is at 21:03 (definitely worth hearing)
and Chris begins speaking at 26:00.

Friends and family came over after church for cinnamon rolls and fruit.
(Note to self for Nick's homecoming in... four years:
Village Baker for catering, plan on 175 cinnamon rolls--
250 was WAY to many--and only three fruit platters, four tops.)

We had a great family dinner that included Aunt Marge, EC, Kristin and Curtis and we enjoyed their company so much during the evening.

I remember feeling so proud of Marty after his homecoming talk with the way he expressed himself and shared his testimony and mission experiences in such a captivating and interesting way.
And now Christopher matched him. Dan and I were talking about it with Nick who commented,
"I've got a high bar to live up to!" Not worried at all, Nick!
Such a WONDERFUL day!
