Pagosa Half Marathon

The three half-marathon runners enlisted Nick
to take them to the beginning of their course at 7:00 a.m.,
but when we were planning last night, everyone wanted to be there to cheer them on!
(Nick is so happy this trip to get to be driving everywhere! It's going to be a hard adjustment back home when he has to wait another five months for his license!)

Marty, Lizzie and Becca were meeting them at the picnic ground to run the first of two four mile  loops with them, so we had a lot of people to cheer for!

On your marks, get set, Go!

Their first leg was five miles.
We all drove to the picnic area to give them their Gatorades and cheer them
onto the next four mile segment!

Lizzie left soon after Michael passed.
Marty took off with Dan when he came around.

Becca ran with Courtney and Nick drove the loop to take photos.
(Have I mentioned Michael and Courtney wanted us all to take photos with disposable cameras?
It's one of Michael's requests for Christmas each year. A lot of our photos were on those -- so we're going to have lots more photos to post some day.)

Marty, Lizzie and Becca made it back to camp first since they were only doing a four-mile loop.
Then Michael came next.
Dan beat his goal time (1:57 -- he wanted to beat 2 hours)! Go Dan!
And Courtney brought up the end.

I'm so proud of these dedicated half-marathoners!!!
I'm thinking this might have to be a Pagosa tradition!

After the race and a rest, Courtney and Michael went to town to get their Marriage License!!

And Dan and me took Rhonda, Bob and Becca on a drive to Williams Reservoir.
No photos though...

The rest of the afternoon, there were lots of card games, visits to the river (VERY low),
and non-stop playing of the hook game (is there a name for that)?

Rhonda made the most delicious "Uncle Megan's Chicken" per request of
Michael and Courtney. It was delicious!
