Pagosa Wildlife

I forgot to have our friends write in our Pagosa journal
or take a picture with our new Polaroid Camera.
Bummer.

But I won't forget to document the animals we saw over the last 10 days:
common: deer, hawks, ravens, whistling pigs, chipmunks, howling coyotes
less common: elk, turkey, vultures, geese
rare: BEAR! on the side of the highway east of Pagosa, a bald eagle flying in the back yard,
a fox running across the road into Marty's yard, a raccoon on our back porch.

When Dan and I were getting into bed one night we heard a thud.
Dan went to check and saw a raccoon on the back porch that had tipped over the outdoor garbage can with the rock on it! I saw the raccoon meandering across the deck when Dan turned on the light.
