Sunday Togetherness

Three more phenomenal farewells today. Loved having a Sunday with the whole family hanging out together. That hasn't happened in a LONG time! Usually when we're together, Courtney has to leave on Sunday to go back home. OR, its a holiday with extended family also here. But to have a relaxing Sunday sitting around reading books, napping, prepping dinner, or practicing States and Capitals with Marge (Courtney!), was a treasure.

Chris chose crab and artichokes for his last Sunday dinner. We ate outside and it dawned on me that next Sunday Chris would be gone. Of course I know that he's leaving. But to realize the individual moments that he won't be here for was suddenly so sad.

After dinner we did Back-to-School blessings. Since Nick starts school tomorrow. (His first day is sort of getting overlooked with all the hooplah and preparation surrounding Chris. No worries, we have two whole years to focus entirely on Nick after Tuesday. That's a thought that must be so scary for him!)

Chris even gave Dad a blessing. Something he's never gotten before. Chris did a really inspirational job. Then we all moved up to Chris' room to pack some more. His suitcases are 54 pounds each so we've got some shuffling to do. Goodbye giant Listerine.

We are going to miss that boy.

We also figured out Google Hangout and everyone downloaded the app
so we can talk to Chris after he leaves.
