Clara Day

I spend Tuesday afternoons with Clara. She's 92 and has almost as much energy and body flexibility as I do!

She drives, but doesn't like running errands to places she isn't familiar with. She also wants to take a walk, and although she's quick and steady on her feet, it makes her feel better to have someone to hold her hand. We used to walk around her apartment complex. But with all the fires and smoke, we either go to the mall or to my house. (She was pleasantly surprised when she realized she actually could get a good walk in around my house!)

She's very witty and has a great sense of humor.  She says the funniest things.
She tells some of the same stories, especially if you haven't visited in a while. But I get mostly new ones. One of her favorite expressions is "The Kingdom of God is within you!"

This week we drove up Big Cottonwood Canyon to look at the leaves and walk near the lake. It was beautiful! The aspens were bright yellow and glowed next to the green trees. The whole way up she kept saying, "Oh Heavenly Father, thank you for this beauty!
