On The Road Again

Driving from Santa Fe, we arrived in Pagosa from the East side of town (through Chama).
The kids had never come that way before.

We met Chris' friends at the store -- perfect timing. I'd already divided the shopping list by sections and divided between the four groups (Me, Courtney & Carine, Nick & Luke and Chris & friends), we were out of there in no time. The boys were awesome baggers too... thanks to their experience working at The Store last year.

When we got to camp, Chris' friends wasted no time in getting their country on.

Suppertime. What a great group!
We put batteries in the fish, and quickly remembered why people take the batteries out of the fish... it's motion censored!! Ha! Hilarious. As Nick was putting in batteries, Dan was resting in the back bedroom. I said, "Dad is not going to like that we put batteries in the fish!" And sure enough, when Nick played it for the first time, Dan yelled, "What are you doing?! No!!" Ha, ha! We put tape over the motion detector to give us some relief.

Nick remembered back when he had to stand on a chair to reach!

Yahtzee! (And Skip-Bo and Hearts and Rummikub!)

Lots of firsts for Carine... Riding an ATV and driving a stick-shift in the Jeep.

Chris and Jake found waders at Savers for $20. They got lots of good use this trip!

Luke and Nick went fishing every morning and every evening.
In the evenings they'd walk up river and were often gone 2-3 hours!

Courtney and Carine making a secret surprise for the boys. They loved projects!

"Sigma Uce" is Chris' "squad's" name.

They loved chopping wood. And dressing up like people who chop wood.
