Lake Blanche and BYU Football

Dan and I got up early to hike to Lake Blanche. The road was so full of cars, we wondered if the trail would be impossibly crowded. But even though there were a lot of people out, it didn’t feel too busy. We made it to the top which I was really happy about. It’s steep and 3.4 miles one-way, so as far as I’ve gone this season. But after the three mile mark, it levels out a bit. So at that point, you can see you’re close and it’s easy to finish.

I. Wish. I. Had. Sunglasses.
I. Need. My. Sunglasses.

There were A TON of people at the top, but it’s a big place with space for everyone. The rangers were out talking to people and answering questions. It felt almost carnival-like. At the least Labor-Day like.

Cars lining the road and a steady stream of traffic going both ways!

That night Dan pulled out the outdoor screen and we watched the second half of the BYU-Navy game outside in the pool! BYU football will always bring happy memories – of my Dad, going to games as a student, taking our young family and taking the kids and friends. I love the radio announcer’s familiar voices and the fanfare. Of course this game was so different without people in the stands. But BYU killed them 55-3, so it was a fun way to usher in fall.

The wind started picking up at the end of the 3rd quarter, and it was getting cold in the pool. Crazy since its been SO hot!! In fact, Dan’s golf tournament was cancelled in Colorado because it’s supposed to snow there tomorrow! A 40-degree swing seems crazy. But it’s supposed to get super cold here tomorrow too. Time to break out the fall clothes!

From 88* to 46* tomorrow!! #2020

Nick got answered to Homecoming!

And a girl from Olympus just arrived in Chris' mission!
