Home Church Sundays

Home Church Sundays are the best mornings:

1) Wake up. Snuggle up to Dan and go back to sleep without a care in the world.
2) Both wake up and talk in bed.
3) Get up and go for a walk together with Kershaw.
4) See lots of the neighbors out for leisurely morning walks too.
4a) Turn around early because it starts to thunder.
4b) Pick lots and lots of strawberries in the garden before the rain really starts coming down.

5) Turn on Music and The Spoken Word for morning inspiration and peace
while making breakfast.
5b) Today was Fast Sunday, so we didn't make breakfast, but I made enchiladas to take to neighbors who got home from the hospital this week.
6) Feel so, so good. Music, spiritual enlightenment, service.

7) Boys come downstairs. (If its not Fast Sunday, eat breakfast together.)
7a) Today the boys took the sacrament to two different neighbors now that the Church has authorized going into other people's homes. And dropped off dinner to one of them.
8) Nick gets Sacrament ready.
9) Sacrament Meeting. We've graduated from pre-recorded hymn music,
to Dan and I playing the accompaniment. Usually Chris blesses the Sacrament and Nick passes.
10) Share various uplifting thoughts and topics.

Today Nick shared from Alma 5 about a change of heart he experienced this year. How much he loved seminary. He didn't realize how much he had to learn until this year in seminary. How much he loved his teacher and all that he was taught.

Chris chimed in with the perfect missionary segue of, "Thanks Nick. Yes. I also love how Alma speaks of a change in heart. On my mission I saw different levels of changed hearts..."

(Oh my gosh, I love when the missionary breaks out! It's so sweet! In addition to just hearing his testimony and his comfort in teaching, I've always loved when the missionaries in our area came over to teach and how they all use, "Yes, and..."
To see my own boys use it makes my heart sing.)

11) Take dinner to Aunt Marge. We haven't done this every week, but some weeks.
We love going together -- Nick gets a chance to drive and we all get out of the house together.
And everyone loves waving to Aunt Marge up in her window and letting her know we love her.

Chris's hair and Kershaw's fur match.

12) Marty and Lizzie come over for dinner if they were at Lizzie's for Sacrament Meeting.
(They alternate between houses each week.)
13) Slow dinner. Talking, not rushing, helping clean up together.)
14) Make Dessert. (Another lemon bundt cake today.)
15) Games. Today we played "Trek to Zion" the Mormon version of "Ticket to Ride."

Home Church Sundays are THE BEST!
