Dan and I both feel really bad we haven't been on a campus tour with Chris
until his Senior year! But better late than never.
I've been to President's Circle a million times for Piano and Violin Federation, concerts
plays etc. And we'd been to the Union Building for Marty's elementary school chess tournaments.
At sometimes from Federation to Chess in the same day.
But never walked through the whole campus with a current student!
First stop, the campus store for gear and pics at the U.
Chris showed us where he likes to study in the library.
I was shocked they can eat and drink in the library,
and he was shocked that in my day we had to sneak food in.
I'm obsessed with this statue and will now be searching for one like it the rest of my life.

Chris showed us the business building, and the lecture hall where he had his
Business Scholars classes waaaay back as a freshman and his office for his job as a TA.
We got to see the route he took walking over from the Sig house last year and
appreciate how beautiful the campus buildings and gardens are.
Afterward we went to Sigma Chi's tailgate and met more of Chris' friends
and even some friends of ours who I've known since we were children
and their daughter and Chris have been friends since elementary school.
They adore Chris, and it was so fun to reconnect.
At game time, I drove the boys to hook up with Ryan at the end of his tailgate,
and then they stayed for the game and I came home to work.
It was a very frustrating and disappointing game.
But being with Chris was the best.
I had a beautiful run this morning (yes, I said RUN! 2 min. run, 2 min. walk x4).
The colors in the trees, yellow leaves covering the ground.
My cute kids all texting ideas for Nick's Christmas, all the work I've put in on my book,
and my mellow jams playlist had me feeling all the feels,
and when Dan's drove by on his way to the store,
I ended up in tears. Full of gratitude for my family, my life,
(and somewhat emotionally scarred from working so hard on such an emotional book).
They were happy tears.
I also had a neighborhood witches party hosted by Sylvia and Athelia
for all moms in the neighborhood and their daughters and granddaughters.
I got to revisit this hat, tights and shoes that have been part of our family for probs, 30 years.
Oh, it's a good life!
