New Friends

For our final day we could choose river rafting or a trip to Krkr.
Since we'd already been to Krkr, we chose river rafting.

A group is making time for daily exercise. That group doesn't include me.

And the swimmers start their workout with a big jump.

I swam with Hilary and Kara then the whole group laid out or
hot tubbed as we made our way to our stopover point for our excursions.
The river rapids were class 2 -- nice and gentle, a few exciting spots.
Emily H. was in our boat and went overboard just once.
We got high centered multiple times (along with everyone else.)
The guides were great and everyone had a good time.

After rafting, we arrived in Split for dinner.

Some things we've loved about the food:
Mixed Salad = cucumbers, tomatoes and red peppers. I LOVE it.
Caesar's Salad = baby greens, egg, bacon, croutons and a delicious dressing.
Also a highlight with every meal.
Meats are priced on the menu by the gram and takes some figuring out.
We've had a lot of sea bass. It's soooo good. I prefer our thicker cuts back home.
The pastas in every restaurant are homemade. The food has been delicious.
We end every meal with a trip to get gelato.

It's been such a fun, adventurous trip.
I've loved the balance of relaxing and playing. Although I could have used another relaxing day earlier in the week. I imagined since we didn't know many people, we'd choose whether or not to be social.
But the opposite was true. Everyone wanted to get to know everyone and spend time together
and were super inclusive. Most of the group knew just two or three other couples before coming.
The mood is a lot like girls camp or pioneer trek, EFY or any bonding week.
By the end of the week, we started as strangers but are leaving as friends.
