I got up to get breakfast ready and put on Music and the Spoken Word --
the Tabernacle Choir was singing the Hallelujah Chorus.
I replayed it two more times. What a great way to begin Easter Sunday!
Hot Cross Buns for breakfast...
I'd considered attempting cinnamon rolls, but when Dan said he was going to Great Harvest,
I took the out and told him to pick up whatever they had.
We learned that in Catholic culture, they're enjoyed after lent and
represent the cross and also the spices used to embalm Christ's body.
We loved them.
Pre-Easter egg hunt photo.
Each boy got to find 10 eggs.
They counted their cash, then Marty had to run to Lizzie's for their family egg hunt.
We watched the easter "Don't Miss This" youtube's about significant people
in the Easter story (signified in the Easter nativity on my mantle.
And then watched Andrea Bocelli's special Easter program in an empty Duomo in Milan.
I love that in the midst of chaos we can enjoy so much soul-touching beauty.
Then Marty and Lizzie came back and we all watched Dan speak at our virtual Sacrament Meeting.
We decided to eat a late Easter lunch so Lizzie and Marty could be back to Lizzies for Easter dinner.
Ham, funeral potatoes and brussel sprouts.
They had the exact same meal for dinner at Lizzies home! 😂
After lunch (linner) we took a plate over to Aunt Marge's to wave to her from her driveway
and wish her a happy Easter and make sure she got a yummy Easter meal!
Nick drove us there. 😳
Afternoon naps...
We ended the night watching Les Miserables.
It never gets old!
And is the perfect Easter movie because it's all about the atonement.
I think it should become a tradition.
