Birthday Boy -- Marty is 24!
It really seems impossible that he's so old!
We had to get the boat on the lake, so thought it would be a good chance for Marty to get experience towing while Dan could be coaching him.
He did fantastic, but yes, it was nice to have Dan giving him a head's up on how to navigate corners, pulling into the gas station, gassing up etc.
Marty admitted to having sweaty palms multiple times on the way up the canyon.
We're at Rockport this year, because it isn't as crowded as Jordanelle.
And as it turned out, Jordanelle doesn't have slips this year because the huge wind storm ruined them last year. So we're glad to be on a slip, but unfortuantely, Utah's in such a big drought, the lakes are only half full and will start declining from here on out. They estimate we'll only have about four weeks to boat.
Crazy!
The weather has been so hot, it would be sad if we have a hot summer but no boating options.
I was able to drop the rope for the first time ever!
Marty chose Rodizio's Brazilian BBQ for dinner and it was delicious, of course.
He said it was a fun change-up from Benihanas and Bonsai. I think we might be going back again.

One thing we love about Marty is how sweet he is and encouraging of his family.
We love how Lizzie and Marty talk to each other and support each other.
And he's also so supportive of his siblings as well and enthusiastic about what's important to them.
I love hearing him talk business with Dan and it blows my mind how much he understands.
Then again, it doesn't surprise me because he's always been a quick learner and able to remember what's important or interesting to him.
This is an exciting summer for him with his internship starting next week and then his last year of school ahead of him. Love seeing all the great things he's doing and the wonderful man he's become!!
