Hiked three miles up Mt Olympus today -- 2600 ft of elevation.
My goal at the really hard part was to see if I could go 1/2 mile in 15 minutes.
Took me 18. Still awesome.
After the first river, the path is covered in ice and snow.
If you have crampons, you can walk without any slipping and hiking in the winter is really fun.
But it's very treacherous if you don't have the right equipment.
Its easier to find joy in the journey when you have the right tools.
