2025 Goals
1) Cardio workouts in Zone 2 (3) -- 75-80% of MHR for 4 days/week for six weeks.
This requires walking on the treadmill or stationary biking,
which I don't enjoy as much as exercising outside.
But I've long wanted to figure out heartrate training and over many years have done a ton of research.
But I've long wanted to figure out heartrate training and over many years have done a ton of research.
I've started multiple times, but quit after a few sessions because Zone 2 is often considered 60-70% of MHR and that level never feels like a workout.
Finally, through Peter Attia, I discovered it should be 75-80%.
(And I'm so confused why there are different Zone 2's.)
2) Daily stretching and strength
Continuing the exercises on the YogaBody Daily app. I really like these.
3) 750 Hours Outside
I blasted past 500 last year. Upping the goal for this year
(even though its less hours than what I got last year.)
4) 25 Hikes in 2025
After our trip to Antarctica and loving the serenity of being immersed in a snowy-scape,
I want to take advantage of winter hiking (or skiing) and head to the mountains!
5) Publish my book
This will include another round of proofreading and shameless self-promotion.
6) Commit to daily Instagram posts to get the word out about my book.
Posting daily has a fun creative component that I enjoy--
planning, wordsmithing, trying new music or reels etc.
But the commitment got a little tedious, because it does take time.
Longer than I want it to, as a self-promoting newbie.
7) Read 75 books
Going to try for this again. One book/week. Two Audibles/month.
8) Poetry class through UCLA extension
After my book is published.
9) PT for hands; body work for tennis elbow
Take care of ongoing body issues.
10) Read the Book of Mormon as slow as possible
This idea recently came to me. Instead of reading a page or a chapter or Come Follow Me etc,
I'm going to read a sentence or a few words and really ponder on their meaning.
Find the treasures and reflect on application and context.
(I started last week, and the words "I, Nephi" have never struck me so powerfully before.)
