2024 Goal Recap

I really enjoyed my goals for 2024.
I also really enjoy my mindset of
"I chose a random number as a driver for accomplishing something important to me.
The point isn't hitting that number.
The number is simply a reminder to make time for this activity on a regular basis."

With that in mind, I accomplished all of my goals.

2024 Goals and Recap:

1) 500 hours outside--hoping that prioritizing outside time will get me exercising outside even more, even in winter.

Total 2024 time: 824 hours
I absolutely spent more time outdoors since I was tracking my time.
I took a walk outside when I normally would have stayed inside.
I bundled up in winter to try to get 15 minutes of first sun peeking above the mountains
which was a total endorphin bath. I loved it.
In summer I spent time reading in the pool when I may have stayed inside.
Loved this goal!

2) Daily stretching on YogaBody and strength training with Caroline's Circuits
more flexibility in ankles and a new strength training routine for motivation.

Loved these two programs. With a few procedures that kept me away from the gym for some time
(tennis elbow, finger cyst, PRP in elbow, Bleph for eyes), I could have continued stretching, but found I would forget or once I was dressed for the day, not motivated.
I plan on continuing both programs in 2025

3) Dan and I together: learn to cook something new together night; learn something new from a book or podcast to discuss one night a week; make a travel bucket list; and listen to a Come Follow Me podcast on Sundays.

Well, we didn't do this. We were traveling with Nick's racing so much more than we originally anticipated,
that our time home together didn't need extra activities to keep us from boredom in our relationship!

4) Read 75 books in 2024. I read 44 last year, and with my new found discovery of Audible,
I'm reaching for reading one book a week and listening to a book every two weeks.

Total books in 2024: 60!
I'm pretty happy with that accomplishment. And if you include the number of times I read my book I wrote cover to cover while proofreading, bump that number up to at least 65!

I've loved Audible as well--especially for really long books without a strong plot, like Empire of Pain, that I might not have tackled "for fun." Also, I traded off listened to Audible books and reading the hard copy on a few, which wasn't "a waste of Audible credits" at all.

5) 24 hikes in 2024

Total hikes in 2024: 19!
I loved rediscovering the mindset that "I'm a hiker."
Again, this total was affected by the weeks I couldn't exercise because of procedures restricting raising my heart rate for healing. So I got pretty close to hiking a couple times a month.
