Aaahhh! The wedding was so perfect! And now camp looked transformed to a wedding venue.
We moved the tables under the lights and everyone ate appetizers while Dan grilled the salmon and we got the salad plates served up, heated the mashed potatoes and burned the bread.
But first some business. Courtney and Michael had to sign their
marriage certificate with the moms as witnesses.
Courtney wanted to practice signing "Courtney Petersen" first!
Previously, Michael and Courtney had sent dinner prompts to each family member, specific to that person's relationship to the two of them. Everyone took turns sharing and there were lots and lots of laughs and some happy tears.
Parents got two times to share -- our dinner prompts and also our official "welcome to the family speeches" about how much we loved the two of them!
After finishing dinner and pie for dessert, they changed and then were cheered away
by all of us holding sparklers, and the most amazing firework show, coordinated by Nick.
He bought two boxes of nine charges which flew high into the air and
surprised and stunned everyone! What a send off!
