Pagosa didn't get any rain or snow this year. Really. Practically none.
Everything is super dry, but we did have a rainstorm every day we were there. Happy about that!
Made us wonder how the Falls would look. Would there be any water?
Nick and Luke have been fishing every day. Still some good holes even though the river is low.

Everyone loves trekking to the Falls on the ATV's and the Jeep.
Well... Dan would prefer to take a car. But he's a good sport and drives the Jeep because the kids love it!
And checking e-mails and texts at the store. |
The Falls did have lots of water -- actually it was the perfect amount.
Plenty to look like a waterfall, but it didn't spray as far so we could get closer.
The boys cliff jumped into the freezing water. Fortunately I caught them just before their first jump and made them search the water for obstacles before they jumped. One side of the rock is essentially iceberg shaped. Caught them in time to jump towards the other direction. They loved it.
And then they ran back to the ATV's in their underwear.
Two boys (can you guess which ones?) even rode the ATV's home in their underwear.
They were cold.
They make me laugh.
That afternoon Dan and I took an ATV ride past the schoolhouse to the end of the road. Found a maintenance road along the irrigation ditch and followed it a while -- first on foot, then later found an entrance for ATV's. We looked at a map back home and discovered it goes all the way to the falls! We're dying to explore some more!
Courtney and Carine went to Williams Creek and kayaked.
