Got my teeth whitened yesterday. I've been dying to do it for years but never wanted to spend the money. I have whitening trays and tried Crest Whitestrips, but have longed for the instant white an hour at the dentist's office could create!
So, when a Groupon came up for Zoom Whitening for only $150 I jumped on it as a Christmas present to myself. Yep, that was last December. It took me 3 months to get around to scheduling the appointment and then another two months to get in.
Do I have whiter teeth? Absolutely! But, oh, the pain! I really think it was worse than being in labor. The last 15 minute session I counted down the seconds, clenching my fist until it was over. Oh, yeah, I could take the electrifying zings that zapped through each random tooth like that arcade game where you hit the mole over the head. I would pay that price for pearly whites.
But did I know it would continue for the rest of the day and into the next? No, I didn't and I wouldn't do it again. My gums were not sore. They were carefully protected. It was my TEETH that felt literally raw. If it were air or cold, I would just keep my mouth firmly clenched shut. But that didn't help. 400mg of Motrin did not help. 400 more mg helped take the edge off. I finally rubbed Clove oil (Thanks DoTerra) all over my gums and teeth and then I could manage, but barely.
Today I'm still sensitive but it looks like I'll survive. What price do we pay for beauty? Pain is definitely not a price I'm willing to pay again. Yeow!! Zing! Zing!
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

More Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day!
I love this photo of me and my mom.
Happy Mother's Day, Mom! Love you so much! You are amazing and strong! Thanks for encouraging our independence, giving us unlimited amounts of self-confidence, being an example of positive thinking, nurturing our intelligence, forcing us to practice the piano, and teaching us to read, load the dishwasher properly, speak some Spanish, be kind, choose happiness, tell the truth, work until the job is done, make healthy choices and enjoy whatever life gives us! I am so grateful for you!
