Instead of being on a plane over the Pacific, we're sitting in the Crown Room of the airport. Apparently planes can't fly if the heater is broken. The good news is the part is on its way... on a plane from Atlanta. Only a five hour delay...
What I really thought was important for everyone to know was that many of our favorite characters from my favorite soap during my teenage years can still be found on Days of Our Lives! Imagine my surprise when I looked up at the TV and saw that not only is Days of Our Lives still on the air, but Patch is also continuing to star in his dramatic role 25 years later--Patch and all. (Didn't he at one time get his eye fixed?) I was just as surprised to see Roman. Roman was in a hospital bed but I don't know why. Although he might be called Stefano now because didn't Stefano get killed in a fire and then years later they found out it was actually Roman killed in the fire and Stefano went through major reconstructive surgery to look like Roman?
From what I got in the 2 minutes I saw, Patch has a daughter who is a cute teenager but was really upset about something. Kayla was with her and I can only suspect she's her mother. I'm not sure if Patch and Kayla are still married--or even if they did get married, for that matter.
There were a couple of characters I didn't recognize (only teens, so weren't born back when I was a fan in 1987). Everyone will be happy to know that the guy was encouraging the girl to go tell her friend/enemy (not sure) the truth because its very important to tell the truth and face the consequences--which they will face together, he assured her.
I'm tempted to go see if Marlena is still on... and Kim and Bo and what was Bo's girlfriend's name? I'm sure Victor Kiriakis is... Do you think he's good or bad now? (And isn't he Jennifer Aniston's dad?)
Darn, somebody changed the channel.
Just went to the website to get my questions answered: Roman who became Stefano is now "John Black." Kim is not on and Hope was Bo's girlfriend and is still on. Patch and Kayla have been married two different times and it was unclear if they are still married because Patch was killed several years ago but wasn't totally dead, just living in a different city and didn't know his identity. He's back now but I couldn't discern if Kayla had met someone else after she'd believed he was dead. I was also going to give a current update, but it would be impossible to relay all that has happened. WOW!!! It is A LOT!
Oh good, the plane from Atlanta is only an hour away.
Oh yeah, and Patch did get his eye fixed at one time, but apparently something else happened because he's wearing his Patch again.
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Lots of Snow
Huge snowstorm for Martin Luther King day! One of those great storms where you go to bed and it's clear and when you wake up it's snowing hard and there's 8 inches on the ground! I'll bet we got about a foot. I LOVE having snowstorms on days when we can just stay in bed and watch it fall...so cozy!
BTW...anyone notice that pictures are uploading to blogger so much faster these days? Thanks blogger!

2007 Favorites
If you have wood floors and children who eat, you must get the Swiffer Vacuum/Duster. It's life-changing! My vacuum hose is too much of a nuisance to pull out every time the floor is dirty. My Electrolux small vacuum DESIGNED for wood floors doesn't pick up crumbs AT ALL. And the broom is tedious. So a friend visited (apparently noticing the filthy floors) and said I needed the Swiffer Vacuum/Duster. Months later I finally remembered and NOW I'M IN LOVE! It can vacuum up ANYTHING! It hangs on a hook on the wall with a little plug to charge it. In 2 minutes I can vacuum the whole floor -- it gets into crevices, picks up cheerios and large chunks of who knows what, and dusts the floor at the same time. It's only $30! Everyone has got to get one!
Origins Automagically eyeliner pencil. WOW! If you've been keeping up with earlier posts you know that I'm relatively new to the world of eyeliner and have some difficulty applying. Origins pencil goes on so smooth. I love Bobbi Brown but practically had to poke a hole in my eye to get it to "draw." I've also tried using a wet eye-liner brush with powder shadow but the two-step process was time-consuming (seconds count in the morning, as everyone knows), and liquid eye liner takes a VERY STEADY hand.
KIND bars. So yummy...WOW! Apricot & Almond are the best. I'm somewhat uncomfortable with them adding glucose and "ignoring" it in their advertising saying "sweetened with honey, that's all!" But I've forgiven them because they taste so good.
Peanut Butter stirrer. My mom trained all her children to only buy peanut butter with no added sugar..."peanuts and salt, that's all!" The downside is having to stir the oil into the peanut butter -- messy and time-consuming -- so much so that if you're in a hurry but you need to open a new jar of peanut butter, you have to eat something else because stirring takes so long. My sister sent me the peanut butter stirrer and its amazing! Real Simple also was advertising it this month.
And of course... BLOGGING.

Found It!
I'm giving me a big pat on the back for figuring out Camille's address on my own. The other day I tried a million things I thought it could be with no success. Got it tonight on my 2nd try. Maybe I've got a future as a code-cracker for the CIA or something.

Camille I need your blog address!
I had such fun catching up with my high-school friend, Camille, on her blog. I thought I'd bookmarked it, but I didn't and now I can't find it! If you're out there, leave me a comment with your blogsite!
To All Parents Who Require Their Children Learn Something Hard...And Then Have to Suffer the Consequences
Marty completed Suzuki Violin Book 3 and his last requirement from his teacher was to record himself playing each song. It took a week of attempts but he did it. Most entertaining, however were the bloopers...
Catch-Up
Well, I could spend all night trying to figure out how to make a cool slideshow for easy blog-viewing, but not in the mood for learning something new tonight. It's 9:30 and Nick is still getting out of bed trying to make a beeline to my bed. How do you not give in to a new 3-year-old saying, "But I need to sleep in your bed, Mom. But I'm scared, Mom."
We were up late tonight as Christopher finished building his new Legos Dwarve's (Dorf's) Mine set ALL BY HIMSELF! And that's only half the great news... Nicholas actually was able to watch without trying to break it. Only an occasional blood-curdling scream from Chris, "MOOOOOMMMM!!! He's trying to WREEEEEECK IT!!!!" And Marty happily jumped up to assist because I was happily researching Super Smash Melee (or something like that) that comes out in March for the Wii, that Marty really wants and is in a panic that we need to order it now so it won't be sold out and I have to figure out if I'm comfortable with the T rating or not. So all-in-all a very peaceful, cooperative evening.
So I'm posting catch-up photos of Christmas...
Christmas Eve Fort -- Yes, they slept in it the night before and stayed up until late watching "Unaccompanied Minors."
Christmas Eve Singing Carols
Christmas Day
Also, just found My Gym here for Nick! All my older kids did My Gym in California -- Marty met there with all of his friends and I hung out with all the moms once a week for 3 years straight. Needless to say when I found My Gym here (couldn't believe it!) and Nick was playing, I was close to tears the whole time. So many good memories and so many close friends that we had to say goodbye to. Don't feel like I'll ever get over it no matter how much I like Utah and how many new good friends I've made here. A part of me will always miss my friends and life in California.

My House is Clean!
We have officially put Christmas away and I cleaned, cleaned, cleaned last week so I'm ready to start a new year! Now I'm starting on the blog and had to remember how to do all the fancy stuff I learned before Christmas (changing background color, music playlists, adding images etc.) and change back to non-Christmas theme. Tomorrow Dan goes out of town so I'll probably take the time to update on life then!
